HEALTH & EMBODIMENT

Health & Embodiment Writings

There are two arms of writing that I’m deeply involved in. One is health and a second related thread is embodiment.

Health. Many of us have been left wanting by the shortcomings of conventional medicine and want more holistic views and outside-the-box thinking. I’ve been writing in this area for a couple of years and generated material on:

  • Owning your health—taking responsibility for it, connecting the dots, changing habits
  • Understanding the factors that lead to robust health and how to use tools in the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual arenas to support or recover health
  • Paradigms of health and models of medicine
  • Navigating the health care system
  • Managing the stress of current times
  • Environmental health (effects of toxic chemicals, electrosmog, degraded environment)

Embodiment. As with many trauma survivors, I’ve been late to fully occupy my body. This is true not only for trauma survivors. We live in a culture so captured by mind that virtually all of us have trouble connecting with our bodies and senses and the actual world around us. When we lose our true relationship with the physical world, we reduce it to a playground and resource here to serve us, when it is so much more. There are also those who prefer to hang out in what in shamanism is called the Upper World. The spiritual dimension can feel a lot more inviting than the rough-and-tumble manifest world. So the vast majority of us could use support for becoming more embodied. More embodiment is good for our bodies, our mental and emotional health, and good for the planet.

I hope all of this material will grow into published books.
